Welcome to Milton on Stour Primary School

                    Welcome from the Headteacher

Welcome to our website.  We hope you find it informative, and that it helps give you a flavour of some of the exciting opportunities our school has to offer.

As the new Headteacher starting here in January 2026, I am incredibly proud and excited to be working the staff, children and community of our wonderful school. I look forward to meeting you all and working in collaboration with everyone to make our school the school of choice in the area. Come and say hello at the school gate or if you are thinking about joining our school, why not ring the office to arrange a tour with us.

I hope to see you soon

Rebecca Clifton

Milton-on-Stour Church of England Primary School is situated in a beautiful village just outside the town of Gillingham in North Dorset. Our school is made up of 4 mixed year group classes. We are located next to the Church of St Simon and St Jude and we have strong links with our church and community. We became part of Pickwick Academy Trust in February 2024; click here to read a message from the Chief Executive Officer

Our school curriculum is based on the core values of Love, Hope and Joy and has been written to promote ambitious reading and oracy, to develop character skills and to embrace diversity. We use key texts as the drivers for our curriculum and create many opportunities for experiential learning and project outcomes.

We have the most beautiful grounds where children get the opportunity to learn how things grow, to appreciate the world around us and to explore and flourish in the outdoors. Our grounds include adventurous play equipment, a forest area, a firepit and outdoor pizza oven, a woodland area, ponds and an outdoor amphitheatre.

Many of our children get to cycle to school along the cycle path that runs from Gillingham to Milton-on Stour, which not only helps to promote daily exercise but also promote independence as pupils reach upper key stage two.

We offer a range of extra-curricular activities after school including sports clubs, art, science, choir and dance. We also offer a early morning club for pupils whose parents need to get to work early.

We look forward to meeting you and sharing our school with you.
