Barley Class
Welcome to Barley Class!
We are learning with Miss Wilson this year who is supported by Miss Feltham TA, Mr Rowley, Mrs Slade HLTA and Mrs Hasted HLTA.
Our topic for the whole of the Summer term are the Victorians.
We have been using our symmetry knowledge from maths to create some natural sketches.
Through drama, we acted out scenes as Victorian children. Some groups chose to act out a Victorian classroom and others children working in mines!
Today we had a Victorian teacher come in and teach us for the day. We had great fun!
Continuing with our DT project, we used spaghetti to research different structures to help us plan for our own model Clifton Suspension Bridges.
In DT, we are studying the engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel. We used the laptops to research his famous inventions to create a fact file. Our aim is to recreate Clifton Suspension Bridge!
Our book study over the last few weeks has been about Oliver Twist! Here are some amazing sketches of him. We used our shading techniques in order to make them 3D.
Samba time! Barley Class have the opportunity to learn Samba music every week. Have a look at we got up to during our first lesson!
Outside Collaborative skills to rebuild friendships and work together after such a long time away. Fantastic skills of cooperation, independence, patience and feeling included.
Welcome back to school Barley Class.
We have really missed you.
You have worked so hard with all the live lessons and remote learning.
You are all brilliant.

Barley's Got Talent.
Barley class celebrated Christmas by putting on our very own version of Barley's Got Talent. We had many acts including magic, comedy, storytelling, singing, ball skills, cartwheels and even a Christmas wardrobe. Our judges were very impressed too. Have a look at the photos below. Well done everybody.
Science TV programmes to explain How Sound Travels, the link between the loudness of a Sound and the size of vibrations. It was fun!
This week in Barley class we have heard the NSPCC Assembly about Speaking out and staying safe.
We also walked to the War memorial on 11.11. 20 with Hops class to observe the two minutes silence and to show our respects for all the brave people who have given their lives for the sake of others.
