The children are in search for new playground equipment

As part of our British Values Day, Barley and Oats Class have been given an amount of money to spend on new equipment for playtimes. The children have broken into smaller groups to choose the item that they think will benefit the school the most. They have browsed catalogues and chosen their ideal piece/s of equipment. Their group must now convince the school that their equipment is right for everyone. They will present this argument in assembly next week and using the value of 'democracy', the children will vote for their favourite. The winning piece of equipment will then be purchased by Mrs Tidby for all to enjoy.

Thank you to all that attended family learning. It was lovely day and really nice to meet you all as parents. The children were brilliant at moving around the stations and taking part in all of the activities. Our chariot has taken a wonderful shape and is near completion!

Samba! The Barley Samba Band in full flow.

Gardening Club with Mr White. The children have enjoyed planting vegetables in the beds.

Minoan Clay Bowls. Using the school gardens to create clay bowls and pots.

Coronation Cakes! A lovely celebration on Friday afternoon. The children certainly enjoyed the cakes.

Along the corridor, up the stairs!! All of the children worked very hard to draw and label their axes. It was great fun plotting the coordinates too.

We used our skills of mixing and texturizing our paints to each create a piece of Hokusai’s ‘Great wave’ We then joined the pieces to make a whole class piece of art.
