WOW Well done Everybody, we have made it through the year. It's the final day of the academic year 2019-2020. It's been a bit of an unusual school year but we survived and all deserve a big pat on the back. I have enjoyed being your teacher this year and have really missed seeing you everyday.

Year Fives I look forward to being your teacher again in September, we will have an amazing year. You have been amazing this year and have all coped brilliantly with the lockdown and home learning.

Year Sixes it's your last day at Milton! How the year has flown. You are all wonderful individuals and I wish you all the best for your next adventure. Keep smiling and being the very best you can be. I will miss each and everyone of you. Thank you for being an amazing first class at Milton. I look forward to seeing you at our leavers party - don't forget shirts to sign (you don't need to wear uniform).

Thank you also to all your parents and carers, who have provided outstanding support to you all this year, both through your time in school and teaching you at home. Well done - enjoy the break as much as the children. You too are all wonderful.

With very best wishes and big hugs (socially distanced)

It is on YouTube if you'd like a look - Barley Bubbled liked the Mr. Bean part and the part with James Bond and the Queen. Today's Daily challenge, imagine you are in the opening ceremony of the games - what special dance or skill would you show to represent England?

Good Morning Everyone. I hope you all had a nice weekend. We are learning about British Values for our theme this week. The fundamental British Values are democracy, rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. The values help us to build a sense of belonging and being a good citizen.

Do you agree with the values identified by the Government? What would your British Values be?

Home Learning - 22nd June 2020

Tuesday, 23rd June 2020

Good Morning Hops Class, another bright and sunny day. I hope you are enjoying finding out about the 1970s. We found a space hopper at school yesterday, a very popular 1970s toy, it provided much hilarity in the afternoon, especially as quite a few people spent more time on the floor than on the hopper. So today's daily challenge is to have a bounce. It could be on a space hopper, trampoline or pogo stick. Have some fund outside.

Happy bouncing

Good Morning Everyone, I hope you had a great weekend and managed to have some fun. This week we are travelling back to the 1970s. It's all Glam Rock and Platform shoes here at Milton this week. Today's daily challenge is to find your widest pair of trousers. Flares were a BIG fashion statement in the 1970s  and often had a circumfrence of 46cm around the bottom of the leg. Good Morning Everyone, I hope you are okay. We have been busy sewing at school over the past few days to make some applique bags. They were fun to make and looked really cool.

As I was driving to school this morning there was a lady from the Oxford Children's Dictionary on the radio. From studying childrens' stories that have been entered into the Radio Two Competition 500 words, the childrens' word of the year is ....... CORONA VIRUS! Interesting findings. Good Morning Everyone - looks like a wet day today - never mind. At school yesterday, Mrs. Hasted and I held a virtual pentathlon with the Key Worker children we are working with. It was great fun so we thought we would share the link with you so you could have a go. You can submit your results to North Dorset if you like as there is a chance to win prizes. If you'd like Mrs. Hasted to submit them with our key worker groups then email them to the school (by Thursday, 11th June). The closing date is Friday, if you want to properly enter the competition or have a go anytime for fun and see how you improve.

Good Morning Everyone, I hope you had a good weekend and didn't get too cold on Saturday. It was my Mum's birthday on Sunday, so luckily the weather was sunny and we could have a socially distanced tea party - I even made a rainbow cake! It didn't look at yummy as some of your bakes you've been doing but it tasted delicious.

Today is World Oceans Day which celebrates the ocean and the important role it plays in our lives so today's challenge is to draw a picture of an ocean view you love or write a poem inspired by the ocean.

I really love seeing all the work you've been doing so don't forget to email pictures in.

Alternatively, design a new outfit to wear while on a run or bike ride.

Good Morning Everyone, I hope you had an enjoyable half term break. The weather was lovely so Gravy and I spent a lot of time in the garden.

Planning for this term looks a little different to previous weeks, as we are using a themed approach to learning, we are giving you more choice of the activities you complete. The theme for the next two weeks is art. Hops Learning this week is based on the Sunflowers by Vincent van Gogh. There are five maths activities to complete - I have suggested an order but you may complete them in whichever order you like. English and topic ones you can select the ones that interest you the most.

Today's daily challenge - take a photograph or draw a picture of your favourite flower - mine would be a rose.

Good Morning Hops Class and welcome to another wonderful Wednesday. It’s meant to be hot today so make sure you drink lots and put on some sun cream if you go outside. Today’s challenge is another Be Kind one. After being kind to yourself yesterday, today you need to be kind to someone else. Good Morning Hops Class. I hope you managed some fun in the sun yesterday. I’ve made no progress with my crochet due to having to unblock the washing machine! This week is mental health awareness week. During these strange times we all need to make sure we look after our mental health as well as our physical health. The theme of this year’s week is Be Kind. So send me a picture of you being kind to yourself - could be you enjoying your favourite snack, sport, food, tv programme, computer game or you having a bit of a pamper. I have also been reading some books and finding some exciting new ones for when we come back to school. On Sunday, the sequel to Malamander arrived -  Gargantis. I'm about half way through and it's very good so far. Another mysterious stranger is wandering around Eerie on Sea! Good morning everyone, I hope you all had an enjoyable bank holiday weekend - I got a bit confused by the days and kept thinking Friday was Saturday! This week should be SATS week and its not quite the same as normal. For some of you the test cancellation brings relief while to others it brings a sense of disbelief because of how hard you have worked. I just want to reassure all of you that we know how hard you tried with everything and to let you know how proud we are of all of you. Tests don't measure everything you learn and many skills that you all have cannot be measured by a test. At Milton we never needed to test to tell us all how amazing you are. (Year Five - we know you are pretty amazing too).

Today's challenge - re-create a front cover from a book and send a photo to me.
