Early Years Geography

A fun trip to Leeson House where we did some pond dipping, walks and orienteering!

In Maize Class we were reading ‘Commotion in the Ocean’ and we were learning about ocean pollution. We learnt about why we must keep our Oceans clean and had a go at cleaning our ocean.

During the Leeson House residential Year Five learnt about the construction of the Jurassic Coast and the geology of the coast line. They made model fossils at Dancing Ledge.

At Leeson House, Year Five learnt to read maps and follow an orienteering course

Extreme Weather - Oats Class made and presented their own weather reports.

Oats Class have been investigating different methods of measuring weather. We have made rain gauges. 

Wheat have been looking at seasons and choosing the correct clothing for the correct season.

Wheat have been looking at extreme weather and we created our own weather forecast to present to our class.

Oats Class have been using map reading skills and compass points to direct each other around London
