British Values
All schools are required to promote fundamental British Values defined as: democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
At Milton we embes British Values into every day school life in a number of ways through:
- the school’s core Christian values which are embedded throughout the curriculum and explored through worship
- clear whole school, class, lunchtime charters (rules)
- the Young Foundation Governors
- the School Council
- exploration of a wide variety of faiths and cultures in appropriate curriculum areas
- taking part in charity fundraising activities and interaction with a link schools (Lui, Bristol)
- visits to school from people in public service
- outside the classroom trips and visits to engage with other faiths and democratic institutions
- whole school celebration of key British dates and events
