Welcome from the Headteacher

Welcome to our website.

We hope you find it informative, and that it helps give you a flavour of some of the exciting opportunities our school has to offer.

Milton-on-Stour CE (Church of England) VA (Voluntary Aided) Primary School is situated in the beautiful village of Milton-on-Stour, just outside the town of Gillingham in Dorset. Our school is made up of 5 classes, with an admission number of 20 each year. We are located next to the Church of St. Simon and St. Jude and we have very strong links with the church and village community. This includes whole school collective worship in the church and weekly in school worship led by a member of the parish clergy.

We have been awarded the ‘Food for Life’ Gold Award, only the 13thschool in the country to achieve this.

We have been awarded the ‘Food for Life’ Gold Award, only the 13thschool in the country to achieve this. It is something which we are very proud of, as it plays an important part in the ethos of our school. We cook locally sourced organic hot meals for our own children and children at three local schools. The children, through weekly gardening sessions, grow fruit and vegetable on site and these are used as ingredients for our school meals. The children have regular cooking sessions. The Food for Life principles underpin our skill based creative curriculum which helps inspire our children to become successful life long learners.

We have also been awarded Unicef's Rights Respecting Schools (RRS) Level 2. These RRS Rights underpin all the work we do at the school, making sure that all children have the best possible opportunities to excel.

We are proud of the academic, sporting, musical and personal successes we achieve with our pupils, but most of all we are proud of our pupils themselves; they are our most valuable ambassadors, and living proof of what our school does best.

We look forward to meeting you,

Alison Trickey | Head Teacher
